I am a retired school teacher who enjoys painting, gardening, and cooking. Walking is another activity that I share with my Husband. Both he and I have pursued our interest in Genealogy since the early 1960's. Currently the Horner / Saunders work being shown on my site is a result of a booklet compiled for a Horner Reunion in Australia in September 2010. Limited copies were given then to various people and Libraries.

For a long time since I have felt that I should make this research more widely available. Born in Australia, my grandmother was the youngest daughter of Nathan and Mary Ann. Although I now live in England but with family in Australia I have been able to do valid research in both countries. Oddly enough twenty years ago when I went across to Hertford and found the Birth Records for Henry and Nathan I couldn't believe they were born less than ten miles from where I live. The 1851 census later proved this was correct. Similarly I have roots in Yorkshire only fifteen miles from Pateley Bridge and so have been able to go across to research over the years. The work on the Bishop's Transcripts of Pateley bridge in 2010 took over twenty hours of reading the microfiche records. However the results have been so rewarding and exciting with the information gleaned and more importantly validated.
